National Space Day in India is to be celebrated on August 23rd, 2024, marking a historic milestone in the country’s space program and its 1st anniversary since being announced by Hon’Ble PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi. This significant day commemorates the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s south pole region that happened on August 23rd, 2023.
On this day, India comes together to recognize its achievements, share knowledge, and spark curiosity about the wonders of space!

Our expert panel will discuss the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 and the significance of August 23rd as National Space Day, highlighting progress in the Indian space sector and major missions. We’ll also explore the impact of the Finance Minister’s announcement of a Rs. 1,000 Cr VC fund to boost India’s space sector, the importance of space science and astronomy education for K-12 students, and the exciting careers in space and future of space exploration.
