SPACE India is celebrating National Space Day, tribute to the tireless efforts of scientists, engineers, and researchers who have propelled India’s space program to global recognition. By celebrating this day, SPACE India aims to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM fields, foster interest in space science, and showcase the benefits of space technology in improving lives.
National Space Day in India is to be celebrated on August 23rd, 2024, marking a historic milestone in the country’s space program and its 1st anniversary since being announced by Hon’Ble PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi. This significant day commemorates the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s south pole region that happened on August 23rd, 2023.
On this day, India comes together to recognize its achievements, share knowledge, and spark curiosity about the wonders of space!

On the occasion of National Space Day, join our online panel discussion “To the moon and beyond” as we delve into India’s remarkable space journey. Our expert panel will discuss the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 and the significance of August 23rd as National Space Day, highlighting progress in the Indian space sector and major missions. We’ll also explore the impact of the Finance Minister’s announcement of a Rs. 1,000 Cr VC fund to boost India’s space sector, the importance of space science and astronomy education for K-12 students, and the exciting careers in space and future of space exploration. Additionally, our panel will address the challenges and opportunities for improvement in the space sector, providing valuable insights into India’s space program.
